Frequently asked questions
Does my client need to install the app?
No. Your client receives the certificate as a picture, its QR code or its card, and shows it at the visit. Only you and your staff need the app.
Can my client check the certificate themselves?
Not yet: only a member of the organisation that issued a certificate can check it, by scanning it in the app.
What if someone shows a screenshot of a certificate that was already used?
Every scan reads only the certificate's signed identifier from the picture and asks the server for its current state. A closed certificate shows as closed, even from a screenshot taken before it was used.
Can a certificate be forged?
The QR code carries a signature that the CertifyQR server checks. A code that was not issued through CertifyQR shows as not a CertifyQR certificate.
How do I record a partial use?
Edit the certificate: "Massage worth $50" becomes "Massage worth $20", for example. The earlier value stays in its history, with who changed it and when.
Can my staff use it too?
Yes. A worker installs the app, signs in and chooses to join as a worker, then shows their QR code for the owner to scan. Workers create, scan, edit and close the organisation's certificates. Only the owner can buy packs and subscriptions.
How much does it cost?
Your first 10 certificates are free. After that, buy a pack of 5 or 30 certificates, or a monthly subscription with no limit on how many you create. Prices are shown in the app and in the store before you buy. Scanning, editing and closing certificates is always available, even when your allowance has run out. A purchase applies to every organisation the owner runs.
Does it work offline?
No. Every check goes through the server; otherwise a closed certificate could not be told apart from a valid one.
Does CertifyQR take payment for certificates?
No. You sell the certificate on your own terms and are paid directly. CertifyQR only keeps the record: what was issued, what was redeemed and who did it.
Can I run more than one business?
Yes. One account can own or belong to several organisations and switch between them. What the owner buys applies to all of their organisations.
Where is my data kept, and how do I delete my account?
On the project's server, not only on your phone. You can ask for your account to be deleted from the Contact page; the Privacy Policy has the details.
